"Mark is an amazing craftsman and a true professional. He guided me in designing a truly unique engagement ring using materials from a family heirloom. To be able to create a fine piece of art from a hodgepodge of old material took skill beyond comprehension. Beyond that, Mark had been extremely easy to work with regarding alterations and cleanings. Working with Mark had been a dream come true."

"I was referred to this wonderful artisan by a friend who used his services in designing some jewelry for him and his wife. Mark is a straight shooter like myself, honest in his words and explanations, and very accommodating. On top of that, he has the wonderful skill and patience to create one of a kind pieces from just mere ideas.
In my case, I wanted to create two new wedding rings from scratch because I had lost mine three years ago. It was the perfect moment as our 14th wedding anniversary was coming up and I wanted to surprise my wife.
Mark listened to my ideas and instantly crystallized them on paper. I loved what he presented, and he took the time to tweak them with my feedback. On top of that, I placed the entire project on a very tight deadline, which he beat by two days!
And on top of that, I also included a side project: replication of a ring very dear to me and my wife of which he made to exact replicas two days before the deadline after I communicated to him that they did not need to be done by the same deadline.
I value attention to detail, originality, creativity, and utmost detail in dealing with clients, as I do with my own clients. Mark met all of my expectations and he far exceeded them. Thanks Mark for creating one of a kind pieces that will live forever with us.
I will certainly use Mark for other creations in the future. He is THE artisan jeweler you want for your custom jewelry project or projects; whatever that is, Mark will blow your mind."

"Jewelry by Design has more than just beautiful pieces. There's an incredible feeling of value and rarity in each piece of jewelry. These earrings I purchased are well constructed and have a complex hue in the stone. I will be back!_Updated- we are back to resize a wedding ring for our 10yr anniversary!"

"Let’s be honest here, when you are dedicating a piece of jewelry to mark a once in a lifetime moment, you want that piece of jewelry to be just as special and important as the moment itself. That is what Mark does magnificently. The only specs I started out with were a pear shaped, big center stone, white gold and a cushion. Mark took that and ran with it in the design of my engagement ring. He added so many special details I would have never thought to add. Such as having the center stone raised with such meticulous nature that the bottom of my high clarity morganite microscopically barley touches the casing it is mounted in. So difficult to describe so please refer to photos for a better ‘picture’. With my husband’s ring, I asked Mark to incorporate a center piece of wood into the band. He explained why that wasn’t a good idea (over time the wood can expand and ruin the ring) and then designed something I would have never thought of. He used a white gold band and actually hand drew in wood etchings to make the ring resemble a tree, and not just any tree but Koa wood (longer more continuous wood markings). He then added the black sapphires from one of my mom’s old pieces of jewelry and used that as the wood knots in the ring. The finished product is something everyone is stunned by and most importantly, it perfectly represented what we wanted in the ring as a resemblance of our relationship.
Mark is not only a master of his trade in designing timeless pieces of jewelry but he’s also so creative, honest, detailed and fun to talk to. He actually gets excited about his new designs and you can see his enthusiasm in his design process every step of the way. He also provides you with several ‘prototype’ images as he begins his design process and keeps you involved and updated at every step of the way. He’s also so accommodating when it comes to payment options and was even able to take our older pieces of fine jewelry (family heirlooms), melt them down, incorporate the precious metal into our rings AND gave us the most honest price for the remaining goods. Mark is our jewelry guy, the one person I hope continues to make all the pieces of jewelry Tristan & I gift to each other one-of-a-kind unique, special and forever memorable."
